"When I retired I was looking for something to keep me busy, about the same time my sister was getting to move to Hartsville, she handed me her wedding dress and told me to do something with it. Not long after that, an article appeared on my Facebook page about Angel Gowns. Angel Gowns was started by Michelle a NICU nurse who saw a need when her small patients passed away. For better than two years I have been making Angel Gowns and donating them to hospitals. All gowns are blessed by Father Dan prior to being sent to the hospital."

Nadine Schmidt, a retired RN from Chesterfield, is pictured (third from the right) with members of our Women's and Children's Services staff who are holding infant gowns lovingly made by Nadine from repurposed wedding gowns. These gowns are used for babies that are stillborn. She even took the time to dye some of the material blue for baby boys. Nadine's labor of love in making these is truly appreciated. We are all blessed by her generosity and caring spirit! Thank you, Nadine! (Taken from Carolina Pines Facebook)
If you'd like to donate a wedding gown for Nadine to repurpose into these meaningful infant gowns, Nadine is willing to pick up a wedding dress at the church any time. Thank you all for your interest!!
